NP A Capella Update (26 & 27 January '11)
Hi! Here are some updates for you:
There will be no A Capella or Choir practices next week. Practices resume after CNY (9 & 10 Feb '11)

Please take more initiative and learn the songs you have expressed preference for, because you will be preparing for a part in the song.
Instructions to members:
- Revise all of your parts because we are starting to have preliminaries for the selection of parts.
- Once you have revised, start searching for live performances (Grammys, AOL Live Sessions, Music Video Awards, Pepsi Smash, Madison Square Gardens) and covers (by YouTube celebrities and A Capella groups) that we can use for reference.
- Start thinking of concepts for the songs that we are doing, especially if you are involved in that song. Concepts can mean themes, lighting, positions on stage, props, costumes etc. Do share your ideas with me so I can email Joe. I will hound you for them! [Deadline: 4 Feb '11]
- Study the songs we are learning properly. The whole point is so we can become more independent, develop our ears to listen to music and own the music that we make. You do not have to know the notes precisely, but do listen out for your part and contribute during practices.
Things to expect for the next practices:
Be prepared with your own parts you have learned so we can revise them more efficiently.
Be prepared with self-learned parts for songs that are still in progress or have not been learned yet. You have two weeks to study them so no excuse!
I will be checking up on you to make sure you are doing your work! You have been warned.
From me to you:
Every Monday, I send you a text asking about your attendance for practices that week. Please reply those texts latest by Tuesday nights, as I have to report to Joe latest Wednesday morning. Please don't make me have to call you! Thanks :)
When you know you will be late for practices, do text me to inform me why and what time you can reach practices. This is so we do not end up waiting for people and wasting time, and we can get started on a different song instead. (And Pearl and I do not end up wasting our minutes calling people. A simple text will suffice!) Thank you, we very much appreciate it!
